I am not sure if the remote or the sagetv app are the culprit for these. (its not the remote doing this, the new shield remote does it too) I don't seem to have any issues on the hulu app or others with this remote. In any case, this remote is 1000% better than the original remote that came with the shield tv. I have switched to the new shield remote and it works MUCH better than this. See further down this thread for its specifics. I also added thoughts after two months of its use. That's a tricky thing to solve.
Flirc nvidia shield pro#
I have a Shield TV Pro (2019) and I got this remote to work with it (via USB 2.4ghz dongle it came with). It works very well because it has an integrated keyboard. I *also* have a Harmony One remote that I use to run my TV and receiver. the Shield remote has an IR blaster in it and you can tell the shield that you want to use its remote to run the TV or receiver volume using the shield remote. I didn't bother to get it working because my TV is positively ancient in terms of home theater devices (Vizio VP505 XVT Plasma from 2010/2011 I think) and my receiver is well into middle age (Onkyo TX-NR616 from 2013). Neither work well with CEC so I need the more function-rich Harmony to make them work well. Most of the time, I tell the Harmony I want to 'Watch Shield' and it turns on the TV and Receiver and sets them to the right inputs and I can use it to adjust the volume if I want. Everything else is done on the Rii remote. I like its built in keyboard and it works as an airmouse which is kind of cool but not super useful. Eventually I plan to get a new TV, and new receiver. Once that is done I expect I will be able to use the Shield remote much more easily by using CEC to simply turn on/off the TV and Receiver as needed. If you have modern TV and receiver connected to your Shield, I would bet you can get by with just the Shield remote most of the time. I haven't used it but it seems like a viable option. I'm going to bite the bullet and go for the Nvidia Shield TV Pro.

I have a Logitech Harmony 650 remote, which is IR only. I would like to have the Shield up and running in an integrated fashion on the day it arrives, and want to make sure that I'm getting things right. I understand that the Shield native remote is Bluetooth. Without upgrading my remote, that's not much help. My xantech extender system works just fine with Fire TV IR codes.I'm seeing conflicting reports on whether the Shield Pro has a built-in IR receiver on the console or not. If anyone know of general purpose emitters which cover 30 to 60 khz, please let me know.ĭoes anyone know what carrier frequency Shield IR codes use? I am assuming it is the emitter? Just today, I found an emitter on amazon, which specifically says 38 khz. The connecting block xantech 791-44 is 30 to 60 khz. Does it have to do something with the IR frequency being used? I just ordered a 38 khz capable IR emitter. Only one issue I am having is - I have Xantech ml95 IR extender system (equipment is in next room) and the IR from Inteset works directly when pointed to the IreTV IR receiver but it does not work, when I try to use the Xantech system (IR emitter from xantech was taped to the IR receiver and yes, it is emmitting IR but shield is not responding). Then you can teach the IR to any programmable remote. You can easily program the Inteset remote for IR codes of shield tv (and fire tv). Inteset 422-3 remote and Inteset IReTV USB IR Receiver combination are very inexpensive and work perfectly.

Flirc nvidia shield software#
There had been a fix via software setting in the FLIRC software but for some strange reason, that setting is no longer available for modification. It was very easy to program the FLIRC but it was giving me double bounce. The preceding suggestion to use FLRIC, I thought, worked well.
